Water Flossers Emerge as the Fourth Pillar of Oral Care
2025 market data shows that water flossers have risen to become the "Fourth Pillar" of oral health consumption, following toothpaste, manual toothbrushes and electric toothbrushes. Their high-growth momentum and enormous potential are attracting numerous brands to increase their investment in the competition.

According to a report by the authoritative market research institute DIResearch, the global water flosser market was valued at approximately 6.04 billion yuan in 2023. It is projected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 16.2%, reaching an estimated 17.29 billion yuan by 2030.

In terms of regional distribution, North America accounts for around 50% of the global market share, Europe for about 20%, while the Asia-Pacific region and other markets—with China at the core—make up nearly 30%, emerging as a key engine driving global growth.

The Chinese market has delivered outstanding performance: in the first three quarters of 2024, the sales volume of water flossers surged by 45.7% compared with the same period in 2019, ranking among the top in the personal care small home appliance sector. However, the household penetration rate remains below 5%, a characteristic highly similar to that of electric toothbrushes in the early stage of their boom. This signals the eve of large-scale popularization, promising enormous business opportunities.

The current focus of market competition has shifted from basic functions to technology-driven experience upgrades: technically, iterations of air-powered technology, intelligent sensor chips and other innovations are being deepened to balance cleaning power and comfort; in terms of scenarios, miniaturized and cordless designs have extended the usage scenarios of water flossers from home bathrooms to offices and business trips, expanding the user base.
